Jon & Jon Medical is seeking a
Fellowed GP Locum
to join an Aboriginal Medical Service on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. This is a
contract position
offering the flexibility and variety that locum work provides, whilst making a meaningful difference in Aboriginal healthcare. You will deliver comprehensive general practice services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, working within a culturally sensitive and supportive environment. This role represents an excellent opportunity to utilise your GP fellowship qualification whilst contributing to improved health outcomes for Indigenous populations.

Key responsibilities
Providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across all age groups
Conducting thorough clinical assessments, diagnoses and developing individualised treatment plans
Managing acute and chronic conditions with a focus on culturally appropriate care delivery
Participating in preventative health initiatives and health promotion activities within the community
Maintaining accurate and timely medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations and best practice standards
Collaborating with allied health professionals, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and participating in clinical governance activities
Providing health education and counselling to patients and their families
What we're looking for
Current fellowship with a recognised Australian general practice college (such as RACGP or ACRRM)
Valid Australian medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Demonstrated experience in general practice,



particularly within Aboriginal health or underserved populations
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage a diverse range of presentations in primary care
Cultural competency and genuine commitment to delivering respectful, patient-centred care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Professional approach to documentation, confidentiality and adherence to healthcare protocols
Willingness to engage with the local community and understand the broader social determinants of health
