Team Member Maintenance

The Opportunity
n
We are seeking a practical and motivated individual to deliver maintenance, cleaning and minor construction works across Council's public spaces in the Tea Gardens area.
n
This role is responsible for general maintenance, minor repairs and routine inspections of Council assets, helping ensure facilities are secure, functional and meet community expectations. You'll work across a range of environments, including parks, reserves, sports fields and cemeteries, with a focus on safe, effective and efficient service delivery.

In this role, you will:
n
n
Undertake construction, installation, maintenance and repair of open space assets, including playgrounds, picnic tables, benches and retaining walls.
n
Carry out maintenance and cleaning across parks, reserves, sports fields and cemeteries, including BBQs, public pools, picnic facilities and amenities.
n
Conduct routine inspections, identify defects and hazards, and report or action issues as appropriate.
n
Operate and maintain plant, vehicles, tools and equipment in accordance with training, licences, safe work procedures and Council requirements.
n
Plan, prioritise and complete work orders through Council systems with minimal supervision.
n
Complete work records, inspection reports and maintenance requests accurately using Council systems.
n
Proactively report issues and defects and provide information relevant to daily operations.
n
Work safely and comply with WHS and environmental requirements and procedures.
n
Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and deal with members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
n
Report incidents, injuries and near misses within required timeframes and demonstrate personal accountability for safety.

What you'll bring
n
n
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in parks and reserves maintenance and construction techniques.
n




Experience in building maintenance and general hands-on experience in concreting, painting, carpentry and tiling, with a basic understanding of plumbing and electrical principles.
n
The ability to work autonomously, prioritise work and operate with minimum supervision.
n
Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
n
A current NSW Class C Driver Licence or higher.
n
A WorkCover-accredited WHS general induction for construction work in NSW, with sound knowledge of WHS procedures and the proper use of tools and equipment.
n
A current First Aid Certificate and AQF Level 3 Chemical Certificate, or willingness to obtain these.
n
Service Location and Test & Tag Certification, or willingness to obtain.
n
The ability to meet the focus capability requirements of the position.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $59,800 p.a. plus superannuation.
n
Location: This position will be based at our Tea Gardens Depot. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
