Our client who is a leader in the wool & storage industries is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for their facility in Melbourne's western suburbs. The aim of this position is to provide maintenance services which optimise the use of all plant and equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all plant and equipment
n
Undertake all preventative maintenance as scheduled
n
Undertake ad hoc maintenance as issues are identified, taking into consideration the relative urgency of the request
n
Coordinate the maintenance and repair of MHV's and all production machinery
n
Make necessary adjustments and/or build equipment to ensure that the highest safety standards are maintained
n
Undertake maintenance duties at other sites as required
n
Ensure that the maintenance workshop and surrounds are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and safety
n
Ensure that all required tools are available and request the purchase of
additional/replacement
tools as required
n
Maintain responsibility for all maintenance tools
n
Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure that major maintenance works can be completed with minimal disruption to regular operations
n




Ensure safe storage of chemicals and that SDS's are available for all chemicals
n
Any other duties as directed by the Site Manager from time-to-time
n
Comply with all AWH WHS policies, procedures and either written or verbal instructions.
n
Take reasonable care to protect your own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
n
Report any workplace hazards you may become aware of.
n
Report all workplace incidents and / or injuries to your immediate Supervisors as soon as reasonably possible.
n
Use all Personal Protective Equipment that is provided
n
Undertake the necessary training prior to operating Plant, or driving an AWH vehicle.
n
To not operate any equipment requiring a license without holding such a license or be under supervised training.
n
Participate in all nominated training programs
n
Do not undertake work, unless supervised, for which you are not yet deemed competent
n
Participate as required in health monitoring activities
n
Assist with conducting risk assessments and with the development and review of maintenance SOP's
n

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Chemical handling
n
n
Please note that you need to reside in Australia to be considered for this position.
