Godolphin Australia is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join stud farms. Positions are available at Aberdeen, NSW.

Horse Trainer/Breeding – Duties will include:
n
n
Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
n
Prepare and train young stock, including handling yearlings and riding young stock
n
Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
n
Train and educate foals and young stock to be handled
n
Assisting Veterinarians with
ultrasound/reproduction
examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
n
Assisting Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as required
n
n
The salary will be above award – in the range of $75,****** to $80,****** per annum depending upon the location, position, and level of responsibility. All positions are full-time.

Essential Skills:
n
A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years skilled experience educating and training breeding horses.
n
In addition, the following maybe required depending on the role:
n
n




A minimum of three years' full-time experience handling and educating thoroughbreds
n
Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
n
Proven knowledge & experience of horse handling & training methods specific to the thoroughbred breeding industry, including working with stallions and educating young stock
n
Proven ability to train and educate young horses
n
Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
n
Ability to work in a team, and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
n
Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
n
Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
n
n
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry.
