McAuley & Co is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our growing Toowoomba team.
n
We're a local accounting firm working with a diverse range of businesses and individuals across accounting, taxation and business advisory.

Variety in your work
n
You'll work across different industries, entity structures and client situations, with exposure to accounting, taxation, tax planning and advisory work.
n
Support without the corporate hierarchy
n
You'll work closely with experienced accountants and have direct access to the people making the decisions. You'll receive guidance when you need it while still having the autonomy to take ownership of your work.

What you'll be doing
n
Your role will include:
n
n
Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
n
Preparing BAS, IAS and other compliance work
n
Assisting with tax planning and year-end strategies
n
Working directly with clients and responding to accounting and taxation queries
n
Liaising with the ATO and other government agencies
n
Managing your workflow and client deadlines
n
Working on more complex taxation and advisory matters as your experience develops
n
Identifying issues and opportunities to add value for clients
n
n
About you
n
We're ideally looking for someone with around 2+ years' experience in Australian public practice,



but we're open to someone with slightly less experience who is ready to step up.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
n
A sound understanding of Australian taxation and compliance
n
Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting software
n
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
n
Good organisational and time-management skills
n
Confidence communicating with clients
n
A positive, proactive and team-focused attitude
n
A genuine desire to continue learning and progressing your career
n
n
You may already be studying towards your CA/CPA qualification, have completed it, or be considering commencing it.
n
You don't need to tick every box.
