About the Cerebellum & Neurodegeneration Research Group (CNRG):
n
The CNRG uses behavioural and biological assessments to investigate the expression and progression of brain changes in people with degenerative neurological conditions, with a primary focus on rare inherited movement disorders. We focus on translational application of cutting-edge imaging, biofluid, and digital technologies and analysis approaches to develop disease biomarkers and provide new insights into disease manifestation.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
n
Applications are invited for: Research Assistant - Research Registry & Community Engagement Officer (Part-Time, 2-3 days/week; 0.4 to 0.6FTE)
n
The following duties will apply:
n
n




Grow and maintain the Australian Cerebellar Ataxia Registry (CARe), ensuring data completeness and up-to-date registry records through interaction with participants, collaborating clinicians, consumer partners, and researchers.
n
Facilitate the delivery of research projects through the registry and associated digital platforms.
n
Support public-facing communications through newsletters and social media posts, including the design and oversight of fundraising and engagement campaigns.
n
Assist with coordination of the consumer ambassador program, which embeds the consumer voice in research activities.
n
Contribute to general day-to-day lab activities as requested to assist with research conduct.

About you:
n
You are required to have:
n
n
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Nursing or Allied Health or a related field, with experience in clinical research or community engagement settings.
n
Experience working with older-age people with debilitating health conditions.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to flexibly interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, including consumers, doctors, and researchers.
n
Proficiency in managing research data,



including familiarity with data curation tools like REDCap - not mandatory but highly sought-after.
n
Experience with social media platforms and content creation (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn).
n
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, contributing to a positive team culture.
n

Remuneration: Salary range is $78,438 to $91,763 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) p.a.* plus superannuation and salary packaging. This is a part-time 0.4 FTE - 0.6 FTE (2-3 days per week) position for one year, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and funding.

Pro-rata salary details: 0.4FTE - $31,375 to $36,705 p.a.
n
Pro-rata salary details: 0.6FTE - $47,062 to $55,058 p.a.
