Responsibilities
n
Role Overview: An experienced Leading Hand Fitter is required to support maintenance operations at Appin Mine. This role provides hands‐on leadership, overseeing a team of fitters while ensuring safe, efficient maintenance of underground mobile equipment.

Lead and supervise a team of underground fitters on shift
n
Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment
n
Coordinate planned maintenance and breakdown response activities
n
Diagnose faults and ensure timely, quality repairs
n
Allocate work tasks and monitor team performance
n
Ensure all work is completed in line with site and statutory requirements
n
Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation
n
Maintain high housekeeping standards and workshop organisation
n
Liaise with supervisors and operations to minimise downtime
n
Promote strong safety culture and adherence to procedures
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant (essential)
n




Extensive experience maintaining underground mining equipment
n
Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience
n
Robust diagnostic and fault‐finding skills
n
Ability to lead teams in a fast‐paced mining environment
n
Strong commitment to safety and compliance
n
Valid driver's licence
n
Ability to work rotating rosters (e.g. 5/2 or site‐specific)
n
