Bridal Sewing Machinist - Couture Wedding Gowns
n
You'll be making Bridal gowns from start to finish alongside our pattern makers, cutters, hand finishishers and machinists - silks, laces, corsetry, beading and fine finishing. No production lines. You'll see each dress through to the bride.

Key responsibilities
n
Make gowns from start to finish in bridal, eveningwear, or couture
n
Work with delicate fabrics: silk, satin, chiffon, tulle and lace
n
Perform corsetry work
n
Deliver high standard finishing
n
Read and follow production sheets and work to a spec
n
Work alongside pattern makers and machinists
n
About you
n
Solid machining experience in bridal, eveningwear, or couture
n
Confidence with delicate fabrics: silk, satin, chiffon, tulle and lace
n
High standard of finishing, and the patience the work asks for
n
Ability to read and follow production sheets and work to a spec
n




Some experience with corsetry
n
Warm, reliable way of working in a small team
n
Right to work in Australia
n
$45-$60 per hour, depending on experience
n
Full time hours, with flexibility around start and finish times
n
Light-filled, open workroom with all new machines
n
Friendly, experienced team, and design work that changes constantly
n
All overtime paid for
n
Chippendale location, a 10-minute walk from Redfern Station
