About the Role
n
701 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join a well-established business operating within the waste management and environmental services industry, based in Willawong.
n
This is a hands-on operational role responsible for overseeing a fleet of 25+ vehicles and approximately 25 drivers, ensuring daily operations run safely, efficiently and on schedule.
n
You will take ownership of the day-to-day management of the fleet and driver team, working closely with operations, maintenance and other internal stakeholders to maximise fleet availability, maintain compliance and ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Oversee the daily operation of a fleet of 25+ vehicles and drivers
n
Manage, support and coordinate drivers to ensure daily service requirements are achieved
n
Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation and overall fleet performance
n
Coordinate preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs to minimise vehicle downtime
n
Liaise with workshops, mechanics, suppliers and external service providers
n
Ensure vehicles remain compliant, roadworthy and fit for purpose
n
Monitor driver performance, fatigue, safety and compliance requirements
n
Assist with driver rostering, leave coverage and operational requirements
n
Respond to breakdowns, vehicle issues and unexpected operational changes
n
Maintain accurate fleet, servicing, maintenance and compliance records
n




Monitor fleet costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditure
n
Support incident investigations and corrective actions where required
n
Work closely with operational teams to ensure customer service requirements are consistently met
n
Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability and communication across the driver team
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience in Fleet Management, Transport Management or Transport Operations
n
Experience managing both vehicles and drivers within a busy operational environment
n
Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, servicing and compliance requirements
n
Experience within waste management, transport, logistics, environmental services or a similar industry highly regarded
n
Solid leadership and people management skills
n
Sound understanding of driver safety, fatigue management and transport compliance
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and make quick operational decisions
n
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
n
Good computer literacy and experience maintaining fleet records and reporting
n
A practical, hands-on approach to managing day-to-day fleet operations
n

Mandatory Requirements:

Current National Police Check (or must be willing to obtain)
