Job Description
Focus Dental Specialists is looking for a Casual Registered Nurse (RN) to join our recovery team and support our Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons across our Coorparoo and Paddington locations. This is a dedicated IV sedation role, supporting patients throughout their sedation journey — from preparation and monitoring through to recovery and discharge.

We have availability every fortnight on a Wednesday with additional adhoc shifts available.

Key responsibilities

Completing pre-procedure patient assessments and preparation
n
IV cannulation and medication administration within your scope of practice
n
Monitoring patients throughout sedation and recovery
n
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and observations
n
Supporting safe patient discharge and post-operative instructions
n
Ensuring emergency equipment and medications are appropriately checked and ready
n
Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and clinical safety
n
Working closely with Dental Assistants, surgeons and wider clinical team
n

About you
n

Currently registered with AHPRA
n
Experienced in IV sedation and procedural nursing
n
Confident with IV cannulation, patient monitoring and recovery
n
Calm, organised and confident in a procedural workplace
n
Strong on clinical standards, documentation and patient safety
n
Comfortable working alongside Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and Periodontists
n
A clear communicator who works well within a team
n
Confident to speak up and advocate for patient safety
n
Previous dental, Oral & Maxillofacial or anaesthetic experience is highly regarded
