The Role
Vinnies Housing is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead our operational finance and business performance functions. This critical role will drive financial discipline, deliver actionable business insights and strengthen the financial controls, reporting and analysis that support sustainable growth and informed decision‐making across the organisation.
Reporting to the Housing Executive Officer and in close collaboration with SVdP's Finance team, the Business Sustainability Manager role connects housing activity, system settings, financial administration and business performance.
As the Business Sustainability Manager, this role provides hands‐on oversight of receipting and tenant account integrity,



budget and variance analysis, month‐end readiness, financial reporting inputs and advice on programme viability, growth and long‐term sustainability.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting Vinnies Housing through a significant period of growth, expansion and new housing developments.
Your key responsibilities include:
Strengthening financial governance, controls & operational excellence
Providing strategic financial leadership, analysis & decision support
Driving funding strategies, business expansion & long‐term viability
Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance & protecting organisational assets
Leading, developing & partnering to achieve strategic objectives
This is a
Permanent, Full‐time (38 hours per week)
position based in our State Administration Office in
South Brisbane
.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, management accounting, business performance, financial operations or a closely related discipline.
Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reconciliations, accrual concepts, financial controls and management reporting.
Demonstrated ability to analyse operating and capital budgets, identify anomalies and risks,



and explain financial performance clearly to non‐finance leaders.
Experience preparing executive commentary, dashboards, regulatory or funding inputs, and decision‐ready financial analysis.
Strong understanding of financial systems, data integrity, account coding, system settings, reporting structures and audit trails, supported by advanced Excel and data‐analysis capability.
Ability to work hands‐on with financial information while supervising staff, managing priorities and building a reliable service‐oriented function.
Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy, mission and values of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, and ability to work in accordance with its policies and procedures.
Qualification in accounting, commerce, finance, business or a related discipline; CPA, CA or IPA membership or progress towards membership is highly regarded.
Experience in community housing, social housing, not‐for‐profit, government‐funded services, property, infrastructure or human services is desirable.
Experience with Zavanti, TechOne, Power BI, Console or comparable finance, housing, CRM or reporting platforms is desirable.
