Sort It Water Treatment Services is seeking an experienced and qualified Water & Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team.
n
This position offers a $90,000 base salary plus superannuation, with additional remuneration available for regional and remote work. All required travel, flights, accommodation and meals associated with working away are paid for by Sort It Water. Remote-work arrangements may also include working-away allowances, additional remuneration, time in lieu or other mutually suitable arrangements depending on the assignment.

This is a field-based role involving regular regional and remote servicing throughout Queensland, supported by local work across Brisbane and South East Queensland when not working away. The successful applicant will work across a diverse portfolio of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants within mining, defence, industrial, commercial and infrastructure environments. The role will involve a significant amount of regional and remote work, including both fly-in/fly-out and drive-in/drive-out travel depending on the project and location.

Key responsibilities

Operation and monitoring of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
n
Scheduled servicing of treatment facilities
n
Regional and remote plant servicing
n
Routine plant inspections and operational checks
n
Water sampling, field testing and water quality monitoring
n
Monitoring and adjusting treatment processes and chemical dosing
n
Preventative and reactive maintenance
n
Fault finding and troubleshooting
n




Identifying plant performance issues and recommending corrective actions
n
Completing operational records, checklists and service reports
n

About you
n
n
Certificate III in Water Industry Operations – Water Treatment and/or Wastewater Treatment
n
Previous experience operating or servicing Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plants
n
Current Australian Driver Licence
n
Willingness and ability to regularly undertake regional and work from home
n
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
n
Good written communication and reporting skills
n
Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
