We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to lead our 1,000-sow pig production enterprise and play a key role in driving operational performance, continuous improvement and future growth.
With strong owner support and a willingness to invest heavily in infrastructure, technology and innovation, the business is focused on creating a world class pig farming facility.
Reporting directly with the Managing Director, you will lead the farm's day-to-day operations while helping shape its long-term direction, productivity, and growth. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and hands-on pig production specialist ready to step into a leadership role and take this business to the next level.
About the Role
As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the farm's pig production operations, including breeding, farrowing, animal health, welfare, and genetic management. You will lead a small team, drive operational excellence, and ensure the business maintains the highest standards of safety, compliance, animal welfare, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading daily pig production activities including breeding, farrowing, weaning and husbandry
Managing animal health, welfare and biosecurity programs
Driving the farm's genetic improvement program
Supervising, mentoring and developing farm staffManaging labour planning,



rostering and performance
Overseeing purchasing, inventory, maintenance and operational budgets
Ensuring compliance with APIQü® quality assurance, environmental and industry standards
Contributing to strategic planning, infrastructure development and continuous improvement initiatives
Working closely with the Managing Director to deliver business objectives
About You
You are a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing operational management with strategic thinking. You thrive in environments where you can influence outcomes, develop high-performing teams and continuously improve systems and processes.
To be successful, you will have:
At least 3 years' experience in a similar pig farm management role
Strong understanding of pig production systems and animal husbandry
Demonstrated people leadership and team management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
Sound commercial and operational awareness
Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
A current unrestricted driver's licence
