About the role

Subzero Construction & Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Shutdown Fitter & Boilermakers to join our team on a casual basis. This position is based in various locations - NSW, QLD & SA and offers the flexibility of casual work whilst contributing to critical shutdown and maintenance projects
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Perform fitting and welding tasks on boiler systems, pressure vessels and associated equipment during scheduled shutdowns
n
Inspect, maintain and repair industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with safety standards and client specifications
n
Conduct welding operations using various techniques to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry codes
n
Assemble and install piping systems, brackets and other metal fabrications as required
n
Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and site teams to meet project deadlines and safety requirements
n
Identify equipment defects and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions
n
Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used and hours worked
n
Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols and site-specific requirements
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Australian recognized Trade qualification as a Fitter or Boilermaker or equivalent discipline
n
Proven experience working on shutdown and maintenance projects within industrial or mining environments
n
Proficiency in welding, fitting and fabrication techniques with demonstrated technical competency
n




Strong understanding of safety procedures, particularly in high-risk industrial settings
n
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions accurately
n
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
n
Experience with pressure vessel work, boiler systems or heavy equipment maintenance is highly desirable
n
Flexibility to work extended hours or irregular schedules during shutdown periods
n
A reliable and conscientious approach to work with a robust commitment to quality and safety
n
Current or valid white card/general construction induction card
n
National Police Clearance within 12 monthsConfined Spaces & Working at Height's tickets within 2 years validity.
n
Clean Shaven or willing to comply with this site access requirement
