We are looking for a Communications Technician to join our KCGM operation.

Reporting to the Mines Systems Coordinator you will play a vital role in being able to negotiate and influence others with a strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture while contributing to Northern Star's dynamic work environment.

What you can look forward to:
n
n
Undertaking install tasks, along with scheduled, preventative and breakdown maintenance on a range of communication systems and equipment to support dispatch, site communications and reporting systems to meet production requirements.
n
Conducting stocktakes of inventory levels of system parts and tools to function effectively, and place orders as required. In addition, perform regular housekeeping on work areas and vehicles.
n
Conducting regular inspection of all relevant equipment configuration and physical condition to support preventative maintenance programs.
n
Mentoring and coaching apprentices and comms techs as required.

Experience in an open pit mining environment.

Qualifications:
n
n
Certificate III in Radio Communications / Electronic Servicing or other relevant discipline and/or experience
n
RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights
n
Elevated Work Platform - High Risk Work Licence




n
Technical knowledge of Motorola two-way radio systems, LTE networks & microwave links, Relevant FMS experience, both hardware and software configuration (preferably Wenco)
n
St Johns Senior First Aid certificate
