This is an prospect for a commercially minded procurement professional to take ownership of procurement strategy, tendering, supplier relationships and commercial negotiations across multiple concurrent projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:
n
n
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies from early planning and design development through to construction delivery.
n
Develop project and portfolio-wide procurement strategies and plans.
n
Identify critical and long-lead procurement packages and align procurement with project programmes.
n
Lead competitive tender processes across major subcontractor, supplier, consultant and materials packages.
n
Manage RFQs, RFTs, RFPs and EOI processes, including tender list development and evaluation.
n
Lead commercial negotiations and prepare procurement recommendations and approvals.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers and service providers.
n




Undertake supplier and subcontractor prequalification, capability assessments and market engagement.

About you:
n
n
8–12+ years' experience in construction, property development, procurement, commercial management or supply chain.
n
Procurement experience with a Tier 1/Tier 2 builder, major property developer or developer-builder.
n
Experience across significant residential, mixed-use, commercial or major construction projects.
n
Strong knowledge of the Sydney construction subcontractor and supplier market.
n
Excellent tendering, tender evaluation, strategic sourcing and commercial negotiation skills.
n
A strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, trade packages and commercial risk.
n
The ability to interpret construction programmes, cost plans, drawings and project documentation.
n
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to analyse complex tenders and proposals.
n
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
n
A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Property, Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related discipline.
