Medical Secretary – Specialist Cardiology Practice

This permanent part-time position offers 24 hours of work per week in a job share arrangement. As the face and engine of our front office, you will handle a full range of medical secretarial duties. To ensure continuous operations, flexibility to provide holiday and sick leave coverage for your colleagues a few times a year is an expected part of the role.

Key responsibilities
n
Managing patient reception, incoming phone calls, and emails.
n
Coordinating specialist appointments and managing schedules.
n
Organising theatre bookings and liaising directly with hospital staff, patients, and technicians.
n
Processing medical billing, Medicare claims, and private health fund claims via ECLIPSE.
n
Managing referral coordination, patient reminders, and processing clinical
correspondence/letters.
n
General administrative tasks essential to a high-volume specialist medical clinic.
n
Coordinate and handover tasks to your colleagues in an productive manner.
n
About you
n
A minimum of 2 years of specialist medical secretary experience is mandatory,



with previous tenure in a high-volume clinic environment.
n
High proficiency in Genie / Gentu medical software is strongly preferred.
n
Strong general computer literacy, adaptability and willingness to learn.
n
Proactive, reliable, quick to learn, energetic and highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
n
A proven ability to multitask, prioritize under pressure, and manage a busy workload seamlessly.
n
A warm, friendly, and smart professional with a strong patient-and-team-centred approach.
n
Valid Australian work rights at the time of application.
