About the Role
Abbotsleigh is seeking an accomplished and passionate Social Sciences Teacher to join our thriving Social Sciences Department from Term 1, ****. Working with highly engaged students and exceptional colleagues, you will bring your expertise in Economics, Business Studes and Commerce to a collaborative and well-resourced department that values academic excellence, innovation and skilled growth. Teaching Stage 6 Economics and Business Studies, fostering strong commercial awareness and economic literacy
Designing inclusive, intellectually stimulating lessons that develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and real-world business and economic understanding, with a focus on how girls learn best
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Supporting students in developing research, data analysis, problem-solving, and evidence-based decision-making skills
Engaging in pastoral care and supporting student wellbeing




Participating in whole-school initiatives and co-curricular programs.
Qualifications
Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation
Demonstrated experience teaching Stage 6 Economics and/or Business Studies courses
Deep understanding of effective pedagogical practices in Social Sciences education
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A collaborative, reflective approach to teaching and learning
