The Role
n
The Clinical Midwifery Educator plays a key leadership role in supporting excellence in midwifery practice across Hospitals South. Working within the Nursing and Midwifery Unit, this position is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of contemporary education programs that strengthen workforce capability and promote evidence‐based, person‐centred care. The role partners with clinical and multidisciplinary stakeholders to advance professional development, support practice improvement and foster a positive learning culture. Through expert clinical leadership, the Clinical Midwifery Educator contributes to improved outcomes for women, families and the broader Tasmanian community.

The successful candidate will bring:

Demonstrated clinical expertise in midwifery practice, with the ability to lead and support evidence-based learning and professional development initiatives.

Strong education and facilitation skills, including the ability to design, implement and evaluate learning programs that build workforce capability and improve practice outcomes.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence positive learning cultures.
n
A commitment to quality improvement, research, leadership and person‐centred care, supported by sound skilled judgement and contemporary knowledge of midwifery practice.

Details of appointment
n
Fixed term, full time day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as available to join the team.
n
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary
n
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
n
n
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.
n
n
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
n
n
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
n
n

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife
n
Current Working with Children registration.
n
n
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

post graduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning.
