We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Experience (AX) Lead to champion accessibility and inclusive design across a large-scale digital environment, ensuring digital services are accessible to all users regardless of ability, circumstance or assistive technology requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to influence accessibility strategy, shape digital experiences and drive meaningful outcomes for Australians through innovative digital solutions.
The Opportunity As the Accessibility Experience Lead, you will play a critical role in embedding accessibility and inclusive design practices across digital products, platforms and services.
Working closely with product, design, architecture and technology teams, you will provide expert guidance, establish accessibility standards and drive continuous improvement in accessible service delivery.
You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in digital products, design systems and component libraries, helping to create best practice digital experiences that go beyond compliance and genuinely improve user outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Lead accessibility and inclusive design practices across digital products and services.
Champion accessibility requirements throughout the entire delivery lifecycle.
Establish and maintain accessibility standards, frameworks and testing approaches.
Provide expert advice to designers, developers, architects and product teams.
Influence and improve user interfaces, reusable components and design systems.




Contribute to accessibility enhancements within component libraries and digital platforms.
Develop and lead accessibility testing programs involving people with disability and assistive technology users.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in accessibility capability and delivery outcomes.
Coach and mentor teams to build accessibility awareness and capability across the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: Demonstrated experience leading accessibility, inclusive design or digital user experience initiatives within complex environments.
Strong knowledge of accessibility standards, assistive technologies and inclusive design principles.
Experience conducting accessibility audits, testing, remediation and validation activities.
Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, developers and product professionals.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Experience developing organisational capability through coaching, mentoring and training initiatives.
Highly Regarded Experience working with design systems, Storybook, component libraries or front-end frameworks.
Experience establishing accessibility testing panels or user engagement programs.




Previous experience within government or highly regulated environments.
Exposure to AI-assisted tools for accessibility testing, content analysis or digital experience improvements.
