BMF Corporation commenced operations as a telecommunications contractor in **** and has since expanded its capabilities across telecommunications and civil construction services.
BMF Corporation has undertaken a range of telecommunications and infrastructure projects for major clients and is committed to delivering projects efficiently, maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service, and deploying appropriately skilled personnel to meet project requirements.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Examine project drawings, specifications and work areas to determine telecommunications installation requirements.
• Install and maintain external telecommunications cabling across construction and refurbishment project sites.
• Erect, test and maintain aerial telecommunications lines, cables and associated supporting infrastructure.
• Install underground telecommunications cables, conduits and related external communication infrastructure.
• Locate telecommunications faults using appropriate electronic testing instruments and diagnostic equipment.
• Repair, replace and adjust faulty telecommunications cables, connections and external equipment.
• Join telecommunications cables and correctly seal cable sheaths using approved techniques and materials.
• Attach wires and telecommunications cables securely to designated equipment and connection points.
• Install telecommunications cabling supporting telephone, data, radio and computer transmission systems.




• Install and maintain radio and mobile telecommunications antennae where required across project sites.
• Test completed telecommunications installations to confirm performance, connectivity and compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate telecommunications works with construction teams, subcontractors and project management personnel.
• Maintain accurate installation, testing, fault and repair records for completed telecommunications works.
• Follow workplace health, safety, environmental and site procedures throughout all telecommunications activities.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience as a Telecommunications Linesworker or in a closely comparable telecommunications role.
• Relevant AQF Certificate III, or at least three years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining and repairing aerial and underground telecommunications cables and associated external equipment.
• Robust ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions for telecommunications installation and maintenance activities.
• Demonstrated competency using electronic test instruments to diagnose telecommunications faults and verify completed installations accurately.
• Practical knowledge of cable joining, termination, connection, sheath sealing and telecommunications cabling installation techniques is required.
• Ability to work safely on active construction sites while complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordinating telecommunications activities with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors and project personnel.
