You're a commercially minded Finance Business Partner who wants to step into a role where Finance is genuinely part of the decision-making process.

You'll have genuine influence on what happens next, rather than simply explaining what happened last month.

You'll have access to the people running the business and work closely with the CEO, COO, operational leaders and Group Finance, providing the commercial insight they need to make better decisions and improve the way the business operates.

You'll use your commercial acumen and business partnering skills to challenge assumptions, build financial models, analyse investment decisions and help shape the performance of a $35m business within a larger, well-known organisation.

You'll spend one week each month in Cairns, working directly with the local leadership team with the remainder of your month based in Brisbane.

You'll also have 2-days WFH per week, parking onsite and flexible start/finish times.

Who you are:

This is for you if you're a genuine Finance Business Partner with strong commercial acumen who enjoys understanding how a business works.

You will have exceptional communication and know how to ask the right questions, explain the 'how' and the 'why', and be comfortable pushing back when needed; not for the sake of it, but because you understand the commercial drivers of a business and can influence the people making the decisions.





You will need strong financial modelling skills, and the ability to turn that analysis into something practical for the business.

- CA / CPA fully qualified
- Strong financial modelling skills

- Proven experience of influencing a business
- The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and challenge where required

What you'll do:

Your day could involve analysing the financial impact of a major CAPEX decision, challenging a budget assumption, building a scenario model, reviewing business performance, or sitting down with an operational leader to understand why the numbers are moving.

The transactional accounting is handled by the shared services team in New Zealand, so your focus is firmly on commercial finance, analysis, business partnering and decision support.

- Partner with the operational business to understand performance, identify opportunities and challenge assumptions where required
- Develop and maintain meaningful profitability metrics, KPIs and reporting that clearly show what is driving the business
- Analyse cost drivers and identify opportunities to improve profitability and manage costs
- Review business cases, financial models and investment proposals
- Support commercial contract reviews and identify financial risks
- Lead cash flow forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process




- Prepare consolidated P&L; reporting, insightful commentary and budget presentations
- Challenge budget and forecast assumptions to ensure revenue opportunities are maximised
- Own the monthly P&L; process, including forecasting, variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare financial inputs for Board reporting and provide clear insight into underlying business performance
- Lead CAPEX reporting and project tracking, including financial assessment and approval of new initiatives
- Oversee local financial reporting, governance and tax obligations, including BAS, FBT and PAYG
- Liaise with the ATO, tax advisors and external auditors as required
- Support the Group audit and annual financial reporting process
- Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes, reporting and automation
