Tweed Heads District Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Adult Treatment and Recovery Team in a community-based mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) setting. This is a seven-week contract position running from 5 October to 22 November 2026, based in Tweed, NSW. The role offers an opportunity to deliver care in a community setting where you'll work with clients navigating mental health and AOD challenges, supporting their recovery and wellbeing.
- Community-based mental health and AOD nursing in a supportive, recovery-focused environment
- Seven-week contract with explicit dates and defined scope
- Work alongside a dedicated Adult Treatment and Recovery Team in Tweed
Preferred Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in community-based AOD and mental health nursing
- Strong assessment and care planning skills in a community setting
- Ability to build therapeutic relationships with clients in recovery
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Current VPM (Vaccination Prevention and Management) competency, or willingness to obtain it
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist knowledge in mental health or AOD nursing
- Current VPM competency or equivalent immunisation certification
