Are you an experienced communications skilled who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, managing complex issues and supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects?

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking Communications Advisors (Stakeholder Engagement) to join the Southern Queensland Region. This recruitment process will be used to fill two permanent A05 positions: one located in Toowoomba and one located in Bundaberg.

As part of Program Delivery and Operations, you'll provide professional communication and stakeholder engagement services that support the planning,



delivery and operation of Queensland's transport infrastructure network. Working closely with project managers, technical specialists, contractors, government representatives and community stakeholders, you'll help ensure projects are supported by effective communication and engagement strategies that build trust, manage risk and foster positive stakeholder relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing leadership, guidance and performance support to a small team of communication professionals and project teams to promote consistent communication and engagement practices.

- Developing, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement strategies for transport infrastructure projects and initiatives.

- Building and maintaining productive relationships with community stakeholders, consultants, contractors, local government representatives and other key partners.

- Identifying emerging issues and stakeholder concerns and providing practical communication responses to support project delivery.

- Developing high-quality communication products, including media releases, ministerial and executive correspondence, newsletters, briefings, presentations, web content and engagement materials.

- Coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, project launches, road openings, media opportunities and community consultation initiatives.

- Supporting communication responses during incidents, natural disasters and other high-profile operational events.

A degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing is highly desirable.

Experience in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement or community engagement roles, particularly within infrastructure, construction, engineering or government environments, will be highly regarded.
