Shelford Campus

Opening in 2027 in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will be the newest Junior School of Caulfield Grammar School. The campus will initially offer exceptional education for students in Prep and Years 4-6, before progressively growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School. This represents a once-in-a-career opportunity for a founding teaching team to shape the culture and community from the ground up, delivering high-impact learning in purpose-built facilities.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference supporting the learning and wellbeing of students at our new Shelford Campus.

Reporting to the Head of Learning Strategies, the Learning Assistants will provide targeted and responsive support to nominated students, helping them access learning opportunities and engage successfully in the classroom. Working closely with classroom teachers and the Learning Strategies team, you will contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment that enables students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You will play an important role in adapting learning activities, supporting individual learning goals, maintaining relevant records and contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans. Through positive collaboration, clear communication and a student-centred approach,



you will help ensure students receive the support they need to achieve success.

Multiple part-time, term-time opportunities are available, commencing 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide targeted classroom support for nominated students under the direction of classroom teachers and the Head of Learning Strategies.
- Adapt learning experiences at the point of need to support student participation and engagement.
- Prepare learning materials and resources under the guidance of teachers.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure consistency in teaching strategies, student management and individual support approaches.
- Contribute as an active member of year level and learning support teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to student learning and behaviour.
- Support the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans where required.
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance and enrich learning programs for supported students.
- Attend and contribute to Learning Assistant meetings and professional discussions.
- Maintain positive, respectful and professional communication with members of the school community.
- Participate in professional learning and seek opportunities for ongoing development.
- Uphold the School's commitment to Child Safety, ensuring the wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students at all times

Skills and Qualifications:

- Employment Working with Children Check.
- Certificate III in a related field .
- Previous school-based experience will be highly regarded.




- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good understanding of teamwork and collaborative practice.
- Self-motivated with the ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
- Commitment to supporting the learning and wellbeing needs of students.
