Finance Manager | Boutique Gold Coast Law Firm

Take ownership of the finance function for a highly regarded boutique law firm on the Gold Coast.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced legal finance professional with strong solicitor's trust accounting knowledge. Working closely with the General Manager and Partners, you'll oversee the firm's financial operations, trust compliance, payroll, reporting and day-to-day accounting.

The Role

You'll take ownership of a broad finance function, including:

- Managing office and trust accounting, including banking, reconciliations, receipting and EFT payments
- Ensuring compliance with QLS trust accounting requirements and coordinating trust audits
- Managing billing, WIP reporting, debtor management and cashflow forecasting
- Preparing EOM and EOFY financial reporting
- Managing payroll, superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, BAS and GST reconciliations and lodgements
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Providing financial reporting and insights to the General Manager and Partners
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and efficiencies

About You

You'll be an experienced legal finance professional who is confident taking ownership of a finance function and working closely with senior stakeholders.

You will have:

- Minimum 4 years' experience in an accounts or finance role within a law firm - essential




- Strong experience managing solicitor's trust accounts and QLS trust accounting requirements
- Excellent reconciliation, reporting and financial management skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience with LEAP or other legal practice management software highly regarded
- An accounting qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and time management skills
