You are invited to join a dynamic team with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Services as the Occupational Violence prevention Team Leader. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the multi-disciplinary team of Work, Health and Safety Trainers including the allocation and monitoring of resources, the review of operations to determine their effectiveness and contribute to the development of policy initiatives and strategies.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Unit within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) covers workplace policies, risk management, and employee support designed to protect staff health and maintain safe regional healthcare operations across Far North Queensland. The HSW Unit works collaboratively with leaders and employees across CHHHS to foster a culture where health, safety and wellbeing are integral to everyday practice, enabling our workforce to provide exceptional care to the communities of Far North Queensland.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will…





- Lead the development of innovative and practical responses across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) to enhance existing training service delivery and address gaps and needs as they arise.
- Work collaboratively with a broad range of senior staff including management and directors to identify and develop appropriate expert training knowledge and skills within a team environment.
- Support local networks of appointed Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) colleagues and elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) with regards to training issues.
- Contribute to the development of the safety strategy, process and policy, and the broader HHS Workforce strategy.
