About the Opportunities

Due to continued growth, Alphazeta Group is seeking two enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineers to join our Building Services team.

We currently have opportunities within two specialist areas:

Position 1 – Graduate Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

This position will focus on mechanical building services and HVAC design across a diverse range of projects.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with:

· Heat load and ventilation calculations

· Ductwork design and sizing

· Pipework sizing and static pressure calculations

· Chilled and heated water systems

· Condenser water systems

· Constant and variable volume air systems

· DX and VRV/VRF systems

· Outside air and exhaust systems

· Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation

· Coordination with internal and external design team members

· Site inspections and construction-phase support

Position 2 – Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Fire Protection – Wet & Dry Fire)

This position will focus on the design and delivery of fire protection systems within the building services environment.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with:

· Wet and dry fire protection services design

· Fire sprinkler systems

· Fire hydrant and hose reel systems

· Fire detection and alarm systems





· Emergency warning and communication systems

· Fire services layouts, calculations and technical documentation

· Interpretation and application of relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and regulatory requirements

· Coordination of fire protection services with architectural, structural and other building services disciplines

· Liaison with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders

· Site inspections, existing-services assessments and construction-phase support

What We're Looking For

For both positions, we're looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about developing a career in building services engineering and who can demonstrate:

· A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, or nearing completion

· 0–2 years' relevant experience – recent graduates are encouraged to apply

· An interest in either HVAC/Mechanical Building Services or Fire Protection Engineering

· An interest in developing a strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards

· Robust written and verbal communication skills

· Good attention to detail

· Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to project deadlines

· Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word

· Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit and/or Bluebeam would be advantageous

· Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship is required to be considered for these roles
