Make a lasting difference in the lives of young children and their families. As an Occupational Therapist you will provide assessment, diagnostic formulation and occupational therapy services to children aged 0-5 years with disability, developmental delay, or those at risk of delay. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support parents and carers to understand their child's development, access appropriate community supports, and achieve positive outcomes.

About us:

The Child Development Service (CDS), based at the Cairns North Community Health Facility, is a community-based multidisciplinary allied health service supporting children aged 0-5 years with complex developmental delays and their families. The service provides coordinated assessment, diagnostic formulation, brief intervention, and referral pathways, including support with access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Early Intervention program, while assisting families to navigate services and achieve positive developmental outcomes for their children.

About you:

In your new role you will.....

- Deliver contemporary Occupational Therapy clinical assessment,



treatment and management within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
- Assist in the development and/or review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols in a work area using the principles of evidence based practice under the guidance of senior staff.
- Engage in professional development activities and regular Performance Appraisal and Development.
- Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities including effective risk management in order to enhance the delivery of safe and efficient services.
- Undertake routine clinical tasks and procedures within the Child Development Service workplace with supervision appropriate to level of experience.
