You will demonstrate nursing competence in the provision of nursing care to patients and undertakes delegated activities while assuming individual accountability for actions within the position and context of practice.

About us:

The Perioperative Services at Atherton Hospital provide an integrated pathway of patient care which commences prior to admission and continues through to discharge, connecting care in the community if required. The clinical services provided in the Perioperative Services are provided to level 3 for general peri-operative and anaesthetic services, and to level 4 for endoscopy services

The Clinical Nurse will provide a comprehensive, holistic nursing service to patients within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will….





- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the patient using comprehensive nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Use advanced level communication and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with all levels across the organisation to promote effective team functioning.
