Pacific Furniture & Bedding is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in Lithgow NSW. This is a part-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your retail expertise in the furniture and bedding industry. As a Sales Assistant, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming shopping experience for our customers whilst supporting the wider retail operations of our store. You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure our showroom is well-maintained, products are effectively displayed, and customers receive attentive service that encourages them to make informed purchasing decisions. The role is 2 days per week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Key responsibilities
- Greeting customers as they enter the store and assisting them in finding products that meet their needs
- Demonstrating product features and benefits, particularly relating to furniture comfort, durability and value
- Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the store's point-of-sale system
- Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing showroom workplace
- Responding to customer enquiries and addressing any concerns with professionalism and courtesy
- Following company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
- Assistance with the fortnightly customer delivery truck schedule
What we're looking for
- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in furniture, homeware or a similar retail environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain high standards of presentation and organisation
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and move some furniture items around the showroom if required
- Previous use of a Point of Sale system and familiarity with excel
