About the role

Fusion is seeking a Clinical Study Assistant (CSA) to join our clinical research team.

In this role, you will support the delivery of clinical trials by completing a range of pre-study, on-study and post-study activities in accordance with study protocols, CMAX/Fusion Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), relevant regulations and guidelines.

You will complete our comprehensive Clinical Training Program, including supervised ‘buddy shifts’, to ensure you are fully trained and competent to perform the clinical activities required of the role.

Working closely with the Clinical Services Manager and wider study team, you will contribute to the safe, accurate and efficient conduct of clinical trials while maintaining a robust focus on participant safety, quality and attention to detail.

What You’ll Do

Study Preparation & Planning

- Prepare equipment,



documentation and resources for scheduled screening and study visits;

- Complete clinical screening and visit procedures safely and accurately;

- Collect, document and coordinate the couriering of pathology samples;

- Complete end-of-day procedures and other pre- and post-study activities;

- Ensure study areas, equipment and documentation are ready for upcoming activities.

Clinical Study Conduct

- Support the delivery of clinical studies and complete a range of on-study activities;

- Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples via venous cannula in accordance with study protocols;

- Collect and accurately document blood and urine samples;

- Measure and record vital signs at specified time points;

- Perform ECGs and respond appropriately to results in accordance with protocols and SOPs;

- Provide clinical support to physicians and other study team members;

- Handle and maintain accountability of Investigational Product (IP);

- Document and monitor adverse events and escalate concerns appropriately;

- Review and follow up pathology results in line with study and safety requirements;

- Assist with study data entry, data checking and quality control activities;

- Maintain accurate study documentation and source data;

- Identify and communicate discrepancies, anomalies or safety concerns to the appropriate team members;

- Support other members of the Fusion team as required.

About you





We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-focused and passionate about clinical research, with the ability to work within highly regulated environments.

You will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in a health or science-related discipline (desirable);

- Successful completion of the CMAX/Fusion Clinical Training Program, including all required buddy shifts;

- Experience undertaking relevant clinical or study-related activities;

- Strong written and verbal communication skills;

- A sound understanding of working within protocols, procedures and regulatory requirements, with knowledge of ICH-GCP desirable;

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy;

- The ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures;

- The confidence to ask questions and seek support when required;

- The ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team;

- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development;

- The ability to contribute to the development and improvement of routines, methods and procedures.
