The Opportunity

As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for conducting independent financial reviews and audits, evaluating internal control systems, ensuring strict compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, statutory regulations, and corporate governance requirements. The role provides independent assurance, identifies financial risks, and advises executive management on audit compliance, reporting accuracy, and risk mitigation ??

What You’ll Be Doing ?

Strategic and Business Alignment

- Facilitate external audits

- Improve visibility of financial reporting deadlines across the business to enhance planning and accountability

- Distribute a Quarterly Finance Digest to communicate key financial updates, business insights, and ongoing initiatives.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

- Conduct independent evaluations of financial records and reporting systems to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Corporations Act, and statutory regulations.

- Calculate and raise accruals, provisions, and other journal entries required for accurate end-of-month (EOM) processing.

- Produce and fully reconcile monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements to ensure accurate and complete reporting.





- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly results packs for CFO and Director review, highlighting key financial insights and variances.

- Manage statutory reporting obligations and ensure all deadlines are met for each entity within the group.

- Lead financial investigations, internal control audits, and risk assessment reviews, presenting detailed audit reports and recommendations to senior management and governing bodies.

- Provide independent assurance regarding the accuracy of financial statements, disclosures, and risk management frameworks across group entities.

- Liaise with external accountants across jurisdictions to ensure accurate and timely lodgement of all taxation obligations, including BAS, PAYGW, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation (in coordination with the HR Manager).

- Respond promptly and effectively to external financial information requests as needed.

Financial Process Optimisation

- Drive standardisation, efficiency, and best practices across financial processes including invoicing, PO compliance, accruals, and reporting documentation.

- Lead initiatives that leverage automation, offshoring, and AI technologies to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort.

- Maintain and oversee a robust reporting calendar aligned with team capacity and cross-functional business needs.

- Ensure ongoing improvement in financial accuracy, tax compliance, internal controls, and reporting quality.

Commercial Support and Business Partnering

- Share regular insights on DSO and cashflow with internal stakeholders to support improved working capital management.

- Communicate key profitability drivers and opportunities for margin improvement with Finance and business teams.

- Serve as a customer-focused financial partner,



enabling stronger decision-making across internal and external stakeholders.

- Champion innovation and growth, driving adoption of new technologies, automation tools, and scalable financial practices.

- Support and oversee post-acquisition integration activities, ensuring alignment of reporting structures and compliance frameworks.

Required Qualifications and Experience ⭐

- Bachelor of Commerce

- CA, CPA, or relevant professional accounting/auditing body membership

- Minimum 6 years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience in financial auditing and reporting (in alignment with visa nomination requirements)

- Experience with Xero and Salesforce (preferred)

- Strong leadership and team development skills

- High attention to detail & accuracy

- Excellent analytical and commercial acumen

- Proactive, improvement-focused mindset

- Outstanding communication & stakeholder engagement abilities
