Wiluna West | FIFO | Mining & Resources

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our maintenance team at Wiluna West Operations.

The Auto Electrician will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of electrical systems across mobile plant and equipment, supporting safe, reliable and effective mining operations.

About the Role

Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, HD Fitters and operational personnel, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment availability, responding to breakdowns and delivering preventative maintenance.

You will use your strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills to identify and repair electrical issues, minimise equipment downtime and contribute to ongoing equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on mobile mining equipment.

- Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections and electrical repairs.

- Fault-find wiring systems, sensors, control systems, lighting and electronic components.

- Use diagnostic equipment, electrical schematics and technical documentation to identify faults.

- Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore machinery to service safely and efficiently.

- Work collaboratively with HD Fitters, Supervisors and operational teams.

- Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to equipment reliability.

- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and fault reports.

- Ensure all electrical work meets safety, quality, manufacturer and site requirements.

- Maintain clean, safe and organised workshop and field work areas.





- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability and reducing downtime.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience as an Auto Electrician within mining or heavy industry.

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across mobile plant electrical systems.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

- Sound understanding of safety and risk management in an operational environment.

- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Previous FIFO mining experience will be highly regarded.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician.

- Current Australian Driver's Licence.

- High Risk Work Licence.

- Current National Police Clearance.

- First Aid Certificate.

- Valid working rights in Australia.

- Ability to satisfy site medical, drug and alcohol requirements.

- Ability to work in a FIFO environment.

HR Driver's Licence or higher, OEM electrical training, manufacturer accreditations and additional mobile equipment competencies will be highly regarded.
