Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Contract Management Officer to work with our client Main Roads WA in Northam.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 42.5 hours per week, supporting the delivery and oversight of road construction and maintenance projects across the region.

We're seeking a construction-focused skilled who enjoys being out on site, working closely with contractors and project teams to ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, quality requirements and contractual obligations. You'll have a keen eye for detail, strong record-keeping skills and the confidence to engage with contractors and stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.

The successful candidate would either be based in Northam or will be willing to drive to/from Northam on a daily basis.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this role offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

- Monitoring construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, management plans and contractual requirements
- Conducting site inspections, audits and surveillance activities across road construction and maintenance projects
- Reviewing contractor performance against safety, quality, environmental and traffic management requirements
- Identifying and documenting non-conformances, observations and opportunities for improvement
- Maintaining accurate site diaries, inspection records, photographs and project documentation




- Monitoring hold points, testing activities, traffic management arrangements and dayworks
- Providing timely advice to project teams and contractors regarding construction compliance and contract requirements
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects through effective stakeholder engagement and field-based contract surveillance
- Contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery activities

What you will bring to the team:

- Experience within civil construction, road maintenance, infrastructure delivery or contract administration environments
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, compliance monitoring and contractor management practices
- Knowledge of road construction, maintenance or infrastructure delivery methodologies
- Experience undertaking site inspections, audits, surveillance activities or quality assurance reviews
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, management plans and contract documentation
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience maintaining site diaries, inspection records and compliance reports




- High attention to detail and the ability to identify and document non-conformances effectively
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships with contractors and project teams
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to provide practical and professional advice
- Current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence

Highly regarded:

- Experience working on Main Roads WA or similar government infrastructure contracts
- Experience in quality assurance, surveillance or superintendent representative functions
- Civil construction, engineering or contract management qualifications
