MATO is a world-wide market leader in Conveyor Belt Maintenance Equipment. We are the OEM of high-quality German and Australian produced products for the mining, industrial & automotive industries.

We are seeking a practical and detail-focused Mechanical Draftsperson to join our Conveyor Belt Maintenance division. A background in bulk material handling systems will be an advantage but is not essential.

Your responsibilities will revolve around designing and drafting conveyor belt maintenance equipment and manufacturing tooling/jigs. Further duties may include process engineering for the manufacturing process; producing documentation, instruction and safety manuals; high-resolution image rendering for sales and marketing purposes; creating technical resources for the sales team; quality assurance of materials and products.

You will have proven experience in 3D drafting and modelling using Solidworks, translating concepts into practical, compliant and manufacturable solutions,



and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including sales, manufacturing and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities and requirements:

- Proven experience using 3D SolidWorks for design and modelling

- Proven experience with 2D detailed drawings

- Experience in concept design work

- Experience with Process Points PDM and SharePoint

- Ideally have previous knowledge in the conveyor material handing industry.

- Ability to work collaboratively with other development, sales and manufacturing staff

- Ability to liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders as needed.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is a full time position (38 hours p/week) based at our Thornton production facility.
