Get Real Workwear & Safety is looking for an Experienced Embroidery Machinist / Seamstress to join our busy in-house embroidery team in Paget.

Good machinists are incredibly hard to find, and we know that the skills required for this role aren't learnt overnight.

That's why we're looking beyond the traditional embroidery industry.

If you can sew – really sew – we want to hear from you.

You might be an experienced:

• Embroidery machinist
• Seamstress
• Dressmaker
• Tailor
• Sewing machinist
• Alterations professional
• Garment maker
• Textile or apparel production worker

If you're confident behind a sewing machine, understand fabrics and garments, have great attention to detail and enjoy producing precise, quality work, your skills may transfer beautifully into commercial embroidery.

For the right person with strong sewing experience, we can teach you the embroidery side.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Depending on your experience, your role may include:

• Operating commercial multi-head embroidery machines
• Preparing, hooping and positioning garments
• Working with different fabrics, backing and stabilisers
• Changing threads and needles and adjusting machine settings




• Monitoring embroidery quality and machine performance
• Identifying and troubleshooting stitching issues
• Checking logo positioning, colours and finished quality
• Garment alterations and repairs
• General sewing and garment work
• Quality checking completed garments
• Assisting with basic machine care and maintenance
• Keeping production moving efficiently without compromising quality

And perhaps most importantly...

Spotting the problem on garment #1 instead of discovering it on garment #30!

Commercial embroidery is a specialised skill.

It takes patience, experience, attention to detail and that sixth sense where you can hear from across the room that a machine just doesn't sound right.

We understand the difference between someone who can press START on an embroidery machine and someone who genuinely knows what they're doing.

And we're prepared to recognise and reward that experience.

EXPERIENCED SEAMSTRESS, DRESSMAKER OR TAILOR?

We'd really like to talk to you too.

If you've spent years sewing, making or altering garments, tailoring clothing or working with industrial sewing machines, you already have many of the skills we're looking for.

You understand fabrics.

You understand garments.

You understand accuracy.

You know how to work with machinery.

And you know that sometimes a machine decides it has its own plans for the day!

We can teach the right person commercial embroidery.

THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR

More than anything, we're looking for someone who:

• Has genuine sewing, embroidery or garment experience
• Is confident using sewing machinery
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Understands fabrics and how different garments behave
• Takes pride in neat, accurate work
• Has good hand-eye coordination
• Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Is patient and able to troubleshoot problems




• Enjoys being part of a team
• Takes genuine pride in the finished product

Commercial embroidery experience is highly regarded, but strong professional sewing, dressmaking, tailoring or alterations experience will absolutely be considered.
