We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our design team. You'll be contributing to electronic product designs from concept through to production, working closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, cost-effective, manufacturable solutions for our customers.

Working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of engineering delivery from initial concept through to production, ensuring high-quality, commercially successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities and elements of the role include:

- Design analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCBs for new and existing products, from concept through to production release

- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting design documentation

- Select components with manufacturability, cost, availability, and reliability in mind, working with our approved supplier base

- Collaborate with firmware/software engineers to ensure hardware and software integrate seamlessly

- Support prototyping and validation of new designs, including bring-up, debugging, and testing

- Ensure designs meet relevant Australian standards such as EMC, radiocommunications, electrical safety (e.g. AS/NZS 3100, AS/NZS 60335), including support for formal certification testing where required





- Support transition of designs into production, working with our SMT/PCB assembly and product test teams

- Contribute to root-cause analysis and design improvements for existing products

- Maintain accurate design records, BOMs, and technical documentation

Key Skills & Experience:

- Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline

- Experience in electronic hardware design (analogue and/or digital)

- Strong schematic capture and PCB layout skills (e.g. Altium, KiCad, or similar)

- Solid understanding of embedded hardware design and interfacing with microcontroller-based systems

- Practical, hands-on approach — comfortable with prototyping, debugging, and lab-based validation

- Competent with basic mechanical design for electronics: enclosures, panel layouts, mounting and test jigs. Includes producing parts suitable for fabrication or 3D printing.

- Demonstrated experience designing to Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and managing EMC compliance: design, diagnosis and testing.

Desirable:

- Experience with PIC microcontroller or ARM-based firmware/hardware co-design

- Experience designing for mid-volume manufacture

- Familiarity with physical user interface design: switches, displays, indicators and membrane keypads.

- Working knowledge of embedded firmware: enough to collaborate effectively with firmware engineers and make sound hardware/firmware trade-offs.

- Proficiency with Autodesk Fusion.
