Brisbane based | Field service | Pathway to Senior Technician

About the company

Our client is the Australian arm of a German family-owned global manufacturer of industrial laundry equipment. They supply, commission and service high-end machinery for commercial and industrial laundries across Australia. Due to growth in Queensland, they're looking for a Service Technician to join their national service team.

The role

You'll install, commission, service and fault-find industrial laundry equipment at customer sites across Queensland, with some interstate travel. The machines are heavily automated, running PLCs, VFDs, servos and sensor networks, so you'll get genuine electrical and automation work, not just general maintenance.
Your work will include:

- Installing and commissioning new equipment alongside senior technicians, through to customer handover
- Preventative and reactive maintenance across a growing QLD customer base
- Fault-finding on PLCs (B&R; platform), VFDs, servos, sensors, wiring and industrial networks, working within existing programs (no PLC programming required)
- Remote and on-site troubleshooting support
- Completing service reports, JSAs and SWMS, and working within an ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified system

This role has a transparent development pathway to Senior Service Technician. You'll get structured training on the equipment, B&R; platform training, and the opportunity to attend factory training in Germany. As your skills grow, you'll take on commissioning leadership, complex diagnostics and mentoring of other technicians.

About you

- Current unrestricted QLD electrical licence (essential)
- Trade background as an Industrial Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Technician
- Exposure to PLC fault-finding (B&R;, Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar) and VFDs
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics or mechanical systems is a plus
- Able to read electrical schematics and control drawings
- Field service, OEM or manufacturing maintenance experience is highly regarded
- Current driver's licence and happy to travel regularly, including interstate
- Self-motivated, customer-focused and safety-minded
