We're looking for a Lead Trainer & Team Leader who is an outstanding first aid trainer, a genuine people leader, and someone who keeps our national delivery running smoothly.

The role

This is a hands-on, working leadership role. You'll be in the classroom, alongside your team, and accountable for training standards every day. You'll set the benchmark for what great HERO training looks like, and help every trainer on the team reach it.

You'll work directly with HERO's co-founders, with the support and access to make real decisions quickly.

What you'll do

Be an incredible trainer

- Deliver HERO courses regularly and cover sessions when needed

- Set the standard for delivery, learner experience and professionalism

- Model what great training looks like for the rest of the team

Lead the team

- Lead, support and develop our national team of Trainers and Assessors

- Run regular one-on-ones, give clear feedback and coach trainers to improve

- Observe and benchmark trainers in the classroom, locally and interstate

- Recruit, onboard and performance manage trainers

- Keep the team connected, supported and accountable

Own the logistics

- Manage trainer schedules, venues, travel and flights

- Solve day-to-day delivery issues quickly, before they reach the client

- Apply RTO and ASQA standards as part of a well-run training operation

Regular travel across Victoria and interstate is required, including overnight stays.

About you

You are:

- An exceptional trainer who brings energy and confidence to every room

- Highly organised. You manage your own time, calendar and priorities without needing reminders

- Reliable with follow-through. When you say you'll do something, it gets done, every time

- Experienced in running regular one-on-ones,



giving feedback and holding people accountable

- A clear, concise communicator who brings answers and recommendations, not just information

- Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet

- Punctual and highly professional

You notice issues early, take ownership and act.

Essential experience

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on first aid training experience

- Current, regular classroom delivery

- Proven experience leading, coaching and managing a team of trainers

- Proven experience running one-on-ones and performance conversations with a team

- Working understanding of RTO and ASQA requirements

This role is for someone already operating at a high level in the classroom. In your first months you'll complete our trainer Excellence Program and be benchmarked as a HERO trainer.

You'll also already be confident leading people. We'll back you with support and autonomy, but this isn't a role where you'll learn the basics of team leadership on the job.
