About the role
Newcastle Grammar School is looking for a dedicated and organised Library Assistant to join our team 2 days / week. Within this varied role you will provide support across library operations, student services, and resource management.
Key responsibilities
- Operating the library help desk to provide welcoming customer-focused support, guidance and referral
- Assisting students and staff with selecting, borrowing and returning library resources
- Administrative duties including exam printing, photocopying and covering books
- Assisting with inventory management including ordering, stocktaking, weeding of damaged, outdated books
- Accessioning and cataloguing of new resources, including management of the Oliver database
- Assisting with library events as required e.g. book week, WABIAD
- Maintaining cleanliness of the library including shelving books, resetting of furniture and general tidying
- Student supervision as required including recess and lunchtime
About you
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of working with children
- High quality inter-personal and communication skills
- A willingness to undertake professional learning and development
- A valid NSW Working with Children Check
