Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

About the role

Join Transgrid as an Environmental Systems and Compliance Advisor and play a key role in shaping environmental performance across one of the nation's most critical infrastructure networks. In this role you will influence how environmental risk, compliance and environmental sustainability outcomes are managed across all transmission projects, network operations and future energy developments.

Working across a diverse portfolio of large and small-scale infrastructure projects and operational activities, you will provide expert environmental advice, strengthen environmental management systems, and drive insightful reporting that supports informed decision-making. Through collaboration, continuous improvement and data-driven insights, you will contribute to lasting environmental sustainability outcomes for communities and customers.

About you

You bring a strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals, licences and permits, with the ability to translate regulatory obligations into practical and effective business requirements.



You are an excellent communicator who can manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results. Above all, you are committed to environmental stewardship, strong governance and continuous improvement, helping embed sustainable practices across the business. Other requirements include:

- Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Environmental management experience within infrastructure, utilities, construction, energy or other regulated industries, implementing and improving Environmental Management Systems, preferably ISO 14001 aligned.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, investigations and corrective actions, and management system documents.
- Experience preparing internal and regulatory compliance and management reports.
