About the Opportunity

Love working outdoors and interested in turning that passion into a trade?

An exciting opportunity is available for a 1st Year Apprentice Turf Tradesperson to join the Golf Course team at RACV Cape Schanck Resort.

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, you’ll work alongside experienced turf professionals who will support you as you learn the skills needed to maintain our golf course, grounds and surrounding areas to a high standard.

As part of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:

- Mowing, planting and general turf maintenance

- Golf course and landscape presentation

- Operating and caring for turf machinery and equipment

- Irrigation and watering system maintenance

- Turf treatments and general course maintenance

- Maintaining course surrounds, gardens and work areas

- Safe and effective turf management practices

Alongside your on-the-job training, you’ll complete the required external training and study towards becoming a qualified Turf Tradesperson.

About You

You don’t need previous turf experience. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and genuinely interested in starting a career working outdoors.

You’ll bring:

- A genuine interest in turf, horticulture, landscaping or golf

- Commitment to completing your apprenticeship and qualification

- Enjoyment of practical,



hands-on outdoor work

- Physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual tasks

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Reliability and a strong work ethic

- Good communication skills

- Attention to detail and pride in your work

- A commitment to working safely

Any previous experience with gardening, grounds maintenance or outdoor work would be an advantage, but is not essential.
