Are you a Primary or Secondary Teacher looking to expand your skill set beyond the classroom? The Forest Education Foundation is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic teacher tojoin the teaching team in Term 1, 2027.

You will play an integral role in supporting teachers and students to understand the relationships between people, forest environments and natural resources. You will work alongside FEF teachers to deliver a diverse range of programs to students in Tasmania (with a focus on the years 3 to 10 curriculum).

No two days are ever the same in this role. Alongside your teaching role, you will have the opportunity to build professional networks across both the education and forest industry sectors, supporting targeted projects and building team-oriented partnerships.

About Us

The Forest Education Foundation (FEF) is a not-for-profit educational institution staffed by qualified and experienced teachers. The FEF provides educational resources, classroom incursion programs and field trips for teachers and students in Tasmania. All programs connect with the Australian Curriculum, particularly in the areas of Science, Geography, Agriculture and Design and Technologies.

About the Role

This role will support the educational goals of the FEF; Provide students with high quality forest education experiences. Working alongside a small team of teachers, you will be an integral part of developing and delivering a range of diverse programs to school groups in Tasmania.

Some of the key responsibilities include;

- Delivering school and field-based learning programs for primary and secondary students supported by curriculum-aligned resources and learning activities.




- Working collaboratively to design and develop engaging teaching and learning resources in accordance with the Australian Curriculum.
- Supporting the development and implementation of special projects/events which meet the Forest Education Foundation’sKey Objectives.
- Providing support to maintain communication networks across the education sector and developing strategies to increase reach through new initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced teacher with a high level of communication skills. You will have the ability to exercise initiative and apply innovative approaches to each project. As the role is extremely diverse, you will be flexible and adaptable in order to meet program objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

- Recognised Australian teaching qualification.
- Teaching experience across primary or secondary education (experience across both desirable but not essential).
- Experience in developing teaching resources and delivering learning programs across multiple year groups.

Position Details

- This is a full-time fixed-term position for an initial period of 1 year (0.6 FTE / 22.8 hours/week). Continuation beyond this period will be subject to performance review and funding capacity.
- The employee is entitled to take 18 days annual leave per annum. Annual leave to be taken within the 12-month period.
- Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant subject to qualification and experience.
- The role is based in Hobart, Tasmania. Some intrastate travel and overnight stays are required.
