About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer focused on stormwater management and drainage systems to join their remote engineering team, supporting projects in and around Queenstown. This role is crucial for designing effective solutions to manage urban runoff, mitigate flooding risks, and ensure proper drainage for infrastructure developments. You will be responsible for hydraulic modeling, system design, and ensuring environmental compliance for projects that protect communities and infrastructure from water-related challenges. Key Responsibilities

- Design comprehensive stormwater management systems, including culverts, retention ponds, and swales.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling for flood risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and reports for drainage infrastructure projects.
- Ensure designs comply with environmental regulations and water quality standards.




- Collaborate with urban planners and other engineers to integrate drainage solutions into development projects.
- Provide technical guidance during the construction phase to ensure proper implementation of drainage designs.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) designation or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience specifically in stormwater management and drainage design.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC‑RAS, SWMM) and CAD software.
- Strong understanding of hydrology, fluid mechanics, and environmental engineering principles related to urban runoff.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
