About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and responsible Aircraft Dispatcher to oversee flight planning and operational control for their fleet operating out of Queenstown . This critical role ensures that all flights are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with aviation regulations. You will be responsible for monitoring weather conditions, calculating fuel requirements, planning flight paths, and providing operational support to flight crews throughout their journey. The ideal candidate possesses excellent decision-making skills, a thorough understanding of meteorology and air traffic control, and a commitment to aviation safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare flight schedules, including routes, altitudes, and timings, considering all operational factors.
- Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and air traffic control information in real-time.
- Calculate and ensure adequate fuel loads for all flights, adhering to safety margins and regulatory requirements.
- Issue flight plans and necessary operational information to flight crews before departure.
- Coordinate with air traffic control, maintenance,



and other operational departments to manage flight disruptions or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date flight logs and operational records.

Requirements

- Possession of a valid Aircraft Dispatcher license or equivalent certification (e.g., Flight Operations Officer).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in flight planning or operational control within an airline environment.
- Solid knowledge of aviation meteorology, aerodynamics, and navigation principles.
- Familiarity with air traffic control procedures and regulations (e.g., SA-CARs Part 121/135).
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in using flight planning software and communication systems.
