About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable Water Systems Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of water treatment and distribution systems in the Queenstown area. This role is vital for ensuring the provision of safe and clean water to the community. You will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs on pumps, filters, pipes, and treatment equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of water system operations, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to public service. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively in various environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on water pumps, motors, filters, and other related equipment.
- Operate and monitor water treatment processes and distribution systems to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with water systems, making necessary repairs to pipes, valves, and fittings.
- Respond to system malfunctions and emergencies, implementing corrective actions to restore service.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities,



repairs, and system performance data.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician , preferably with experience in water systems, plumbing, or mechanical repair.
- Knowledge of water treatment processes, pumps, and distribution networks.
- Ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools used in water system maintenance.
- Understanding of relevant safety procedures and regulations for water works.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in potentially challenging environments.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
