The Trustee for Jai Kuber Unit Trust We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the head chef in creating delicious dishes, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet our high standards.

Benefits Competitive salary Opportunities for career growth Work-life balance Health and wellness Task & responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient food preparation and service.

Prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with established recipes, menu specifications, portion requirements and presentation standards. Supervise and coordinate chefs, cooks and kitchen staff during preparation and service, allocating duties and ensuring efficient workflow. Assist with planning and developing menus, daily specials, function menus and seasonal dishes, taking into account ingredient availability, customer demand and food costs.

Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes throughout preparation and service to ensure consistent food quality, flavour and presentation. Assist with ordering food and kitchen supplies, receiving and checking deliveries, monitoring stock levels and ensuring appropriate storage and stock rotation. Monitor portion control, food usage and wastage and assist the Head Chef with maintaining food costs and efficient use of ingredients.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements, including maintaining appropriate food storage and kitchen cleaning procedures. Train, guide and support junior chefs,



cooks and other kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, presentation standards and protected work practices. Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff regarding service requirements, menu availability, dietary requirements, customer requests and functions to ensure timely and efficient service.

Assist with the preparation and delivery of food for functions, events and catering services, ensuring dishes are produced to the required quality and within service timeframes. Monitor kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure they are maintained in a clean, safe and operational condition and report maintenance requirements where necessary. Assist the Head Chef with kitchen rosters, staff performance, training requirements and maintaining appropriate staffing levels for service periods.

Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence, including supervising staff, maintaining food quality and ensuring service standards are met. Contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen operations by reviewing preparation processes, service efficiency, menu performance and food quality. Qualification & experience Diploma level qualification in relevant field Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar role in addition to the qualification Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
