About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in grid integration to join their team in Queenstown. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and stable connection of renewable energy sources to the national grid. You will be involved in the technical aspects of grid studies, connection agreements, and operational planning, contributing to the expansion of sustainable energy infrastructure in the Eastern Cape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of power systems engineering and a passion for overcoming the technical challenges associated with integrating intermittent renewable energy into existing grids.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform grid interconnection studies and impact assessments for renewable energy projects.
- Develop technical specifications for grid connection equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes and utility requirements for interconnection applications.
- Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and project teams to facilitate smooth integration.
- Analyze grid stability, power quality, and fault levels related to renewable energy generation.




- Provide technical support during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of grid-connected projects.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on grid integration of renewable energy.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP).
- Strong understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and protection schemes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
