About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Aviation Safety Inspector to join their regulatory compliance team in Queenstown . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and audits of aviation facilities, operations, and personnel to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and enforcing compliance to maintain the highest levels of aviation safety. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including operators, maintenance organizations, and other regulatory bodies, to promote a robust safety culture. This position requires a strong understanding of aviation law and a meticulous approach to oversight.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections and audits of aircraft operators, maintenance facilities, and training organizations.
- Evaluate compliance with national and international aviation safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate safety deviations, non-compliance issues, and aircraft incidents/accidents.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.




- Provide guidance and education to industry stakeholders on safety regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with aviation authorities and other regulatory bodies to ensure consistent enforcement of safety policies.

Requirements

- Extensive experience in aviation safety, regulatory compliance, or aircraft operations, typically 5+ years.
- Possession of relevant aviation certifications or licenses (e.g., pilot license, maintenance engineer license, safety inspector qualification).
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations (e.g., SA-CARs, ICAO standards).
- Proven ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
